Bruce Timm

Bruce Timm is a lifelong fan of comic books and sci-fi movies. He always dreamed of drawing comics for a living but wound up in animation instead. He started at Filmation and then bounced around the industry doing stints for Don Bluth, Marvel Productions, and Ralph Bakshi (on Mighty Mouse), among others.

While he was working on Mighty Mouse he met John Kricfalusi (Ren & Stimpy) who took Bruce with him on DC to work on Beanie and Cecil.

After he had tried to get work on comics at Marvel and DC without success, he finally landed at Warner Bros. in 1989, where he has been ever since.

At Warners, Timm, after working on Tiny Toon, became producer/designer of Batman: The Animated Series in 1990. He has since produced Superman, and The New Batman Superman Adventures and co-created/produced Batman Beyond.

He get to work on his first love (comics) when he has some spare time-notably various Batman-related comics for DC, including Batman Adventures. Mad Love, as well as covers and pinups for Dark Horse, Marvel, Oni, and Harris. His most recent comics projects have included Avengers 11/2 with Roger Stern for Marvel, a six-page Vampirella story with Ty Templeton for Harris, and a "nasty little romance story" with Joe Lansdale for DC's Vertigo line. Timm has won two Eisners, one Harvey, one Reuben, and two Emmys.
